Torii Kiyomitsu (鳥居清満)

Kiyomitsu TORII (鳥居 清満, 1735 - May 11, 1785) was an Ukiyoe artist who was active in the Torii school of Ukiyoe in the early Edo period. It is said that he was the second son and disciple of Kiyomasu TORII the second. He was commonly known as Kamejiro. He was the third generation family head of the Torii school of Ukiyoe.

He observed the traditional painting techniques of the Torii school of Ukiyoe. He was active in the Torii school of Ukiyoe from the late Horeki era through to the Meiwa era. Most of the works he left are book illustrations for Kusazoshi (Japanese chapbooks), pictures for banzuke (a list of actors), billboards for plays, and so on. He also left multicolored piece of pictures which he painted with more than three colors.

He raised a lot of disciples, too. The name "Kiyomitsu" was inherited for three generations after him.
